How will a US power shift impact Ukraine — Novyny.LIVE exclusive
In the United States, Democratic Senator Paul Stross from the District of Columbia told what to expect from the change of power in the country. He expressed his belief that Republicans will not support Ukraine as actively as Democrats.
Stross said this in an exclusive interview with Novyny.LIVE correspondent Uliana Boichuk on Thursday, December 26.
Republicans will reduce support for Ukraine
"I don't think the Republicans will support Ukraine the way Democrats and Republicans did in the previous Congress. For example, there are people like Mitt Romney, who is a principled Republican from Utah and a strong supporter of freedom for Ukraine, but he is leaving the Senate," Stross said.
The politician noted that the support from the United States will go in a different direction, so Ukraine needs to accept the challenges of this situation.
In addition, the senator commented on the following issues:
- How the transition of power from one administration to another will take place;
- What Washington is preparing for on Inauguration Day;
- US global leadership in the world.
